July fishery update
Astbury Mere
It is not just the carp that are being reported this month we have members telling us of their catches which include Catfish to 26lb, tench to 8lb 08ozs and bream to 12lb and their is a string of carp to just over 30lb, we closed most of the water for 10 days while the carp and tench were spawning and this seen to be a great success, and now they settle down and started to feed again.
Rode Pool Has been very patchy over the last few weeks with members reporting dry nets, but now it is producing some good bags of bream and tench. North Road Pool Is again a jewel in the crown for the pleasure anglers who are have big catches of carp, tench crucian carp and rudd. River Dove We have had reports of Barbel to 13lb with several other over 12lb and one member had a good catch of Chub some of the fish had not spawned and one was weighed at 8lb, member are reporting catches of all three lengths and one member had Carp from Fauld. Woore Fruit Farm Reports are coming in of good sized Carp being caught on the bottom and off the surface in warm conditions. Rudyard Lake Is now settling down with members catching mixed bags of silver fish and one member reported a carp over 20lbs.
