Fish Welfare

We have been made aware of fish being caught showing signs of poor angling and rule breaking.

Can we please urge all members to view the society rules on hook sizes and NO surface baits. The rules are in place to protect the fish and other wildlife that inhabit the waters.

The society has also taken the step to ban the use of plastic/artificial baits, this includes the following:

Sweetcorn, Maize, Maggots, Worms, Pellets, Boilies etc.

Cork can be used in boilies as it is classed as a biodegradable product. Where Zig fishing is permitted Foam can still be used.

Bailiffs my request a rig check, please cooperate if asked.

Can we also request that all members remain vigilant to fish going through spawning process and apply common sense to not target such fish.
