STOKE-on-TRENT
ANGLING SOCIETY

Carp Stockings set for an exciting year ahead.
The Society has has worked tirelessly in 2025 to improve the waters in everyway that we possibly can. From the work carried out on the banks and the improvements to the pegs and access ways the committee and the membership have done a fantastic job. To complement this hard work the society have met this by adding some incredible additions to the waters that we control from Bream and Tench to Carp. The Bream added to Stanley have been a major success and have been part of the plan to solidify Stanley as the stand out Bream water in the area. Early in the year we took delivery of Carp for Astbury to diversify the blood lines and maintain an all ready impressive stock of high quality fish. This was also in conjunction with a Society first as we added the first Carp into Stanley Head, since then we have taken the opportunity to add further to these stockings with some incredibly outstanding fish.
We have been immensely impressed by how well these Carp have settled in and have put on weight from there initial stocking. These results have been a testament to the development, planning and feeding programme from Chairman Kevin Grocott and Fisheries Manager Jason Walters to get this project off the ground and the continuing dedication from all on the committee to gain such successful early results, long may it continue.
Below is a selection of the fish stocked over the last 12 months.
