Day Tickets



Shakerley Mere is a shallow 17 acre lake set in a country park. This former sand quarry is popular amongst specimen carp anglers due to the excellent head of large carp it contains. It produces fish to around 30lbs with plenty of good sized back-up fish. Other species in the mere include catfish to over 40lb and large shoals of specimen bream and roach and perch in excess of 4lb.

 

The cost of a day ticket is £5 one rod £10 two rods and fishing is strictly from dawn till dusk on the day your ticket is valid for. As well as the general club rules the following water specific rules apply and by purchasing a day ticket you are agreeing to abide by all rules in place at the time.

 

  • Fishing is from designated pegs only

  • Barbless hooks only

  • No ground bait of any nature is allowed: please exercise restraint when introducing free offerings into this water

  • The lakebed contains fluid sands, which are extremely treacherous, and as a result wading is strictly prohibited

  • Maximum stay on this water is 72 hours for members and dawn till dusk for day tickets

 

Directions Heading south on the M6, leave at junction 19 (Knutsford). Turn right towards Chester along the A556. Travel for about 4 miles before turning left onto the B5082, sign posted Holmes Chapel. Continue along the B5082 for about 3 miles to the crossroads with the B5081. Turn left at the Three Greyhounds pub and Shakerley Mere is the first opening on the left.
